My commute is rather different now too, riding the train into North Station/The TD Banknorth Boston Garden (formerly the Fleet Center...) then outside to go into a building and down a set of stairs, which lead to a tunnel under the street to get on the orange line at the North Station stop. Orange line to Back Bay, which is connected to Copley Place by a tunnel...
Basically I will only be exposed to "Outside" when I'm going from my front door to my car, at the Gloucester Commuter Rail Station, and at the short (MAYBE 50 feet...) walk from North Station to the tunnel. After that I'm indoors all the time. Which means that it is VERY nice that the office has glass walls... ;)
Copley Place Mall (the bottom two floors of the building, and at least two other buildings...) is AMAZING also. Having to go through this mall with a Neiman Marcus, and Chilis, and walk past all this retail to get to the first floor elevator (three stories up!) for Copley Place Towers is just amazing. It lends the entire day a very surreal quality.
Monday will be the beginning of my first real week at Compete. I'm hoping it's as much fun and as magical as the whole experience of finding this job and going in for my first day were.
I'll keep you posted!
